The newly-refurbished Moorfield Hall is the venue for the next meeting of the Shard End Ward Committee, which will be held on Monday 9 December, starting at 7pm.
Based in Hartshill Road, just opposite the Heath Way shopping area, Moorfield Hall has been an important part of community life in Shard End for many years. Now renovated and refurbished, the Hall is being managed by Age Concern Birmingham, who have exciting plans to ensure that Moorfield Hall continues to be a vibrant community facility for people in Shard End.
The Age Concern Birmingham team will be setting out their plans at the meeting, so please do come along to find out more. There will also be reports from the local police team and a chance for residents to raise their concerns about local issues.
Marje, Ian and I look forward to seeing you there!
Hard to believe, but the festive season is almost upon us again, so I thought you’d like early notice of the Christmas and New Year refuse collection arrangements.
The arrangements are as follows:
Christmas Day, Wednesday 25 December: no collection
Boxing day, Thursday 26 December: no collection
New Year’s Day, Wednesday 1 January: normal scheduled collections
Those residents who normally receive a refuse collection on a Wednesday or Thursday (falling on December 25 and 26) will receive a collection on Wednesday (January 1) or Thursday (January 2).
Residents who have a recycling collection service due on Wednesday or Thursday (falling on December 25 and 26) will receive a collection on Wednesday (January 8) or Thursday (January 9).
The city’s five Household Recycling Centres will be open as normal each day, except on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, for any residents with large quantities of waste or recycling that they wish to dispose of between their scheduled collections.
