99 bus service to go hourly?

I’ve received notice from Centro that they are proposing to change the frequency of the 99 bus service, which connects Lea Village with Acocks Green.

The 99 is a daytime only service and currently runs on a half hourly basis. Under Centro’s proposals, which are likely to take effect from the end of February, the service will run once every hour.  They also propose to change the route in the South Yardley area and run the service through Clay Lane and Gilbertstone Avenue, before moving on to cover the Lyndon area, including Melton Avenue, Hobs Moat Road and Coventry Road.

As someone who relies on the bus to get around, I know from my own experience how changes to services can cause real problems.  I’m keen to know what local residents who use the 99 think about this plan, so please tell me your views – use the links on the Contact Me page to get in touch!
