Come and have your say!

I’ve been out today delivering leaflets to publicise tomorrow evening’s meeting of the Shard End Ward Committee, which will be held at Castle Bromwich Methodist Church, School Lane, B34 6SJ, starting at 7:00pm.

These monthly meetings are a chance for residents to have their say about local issues and to find out about the latest developments across the Shard End Ward.  Tomorrow’s agenda can be found on the City Council’s website here and includes:

  • A report from the local police on their ongoing efforts to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour
  • An update on plans to improve Longmeadow Park
  • Decisions on the use of the Ward’s Community Chest fund.

We’re also using the first part of the meeting to identify local problems that need sorting out.  This “neighbourhood tasking” process brings residents together with Council officials, Police and other agencies to identify the problems and draw up an action plan to put things right.  The officials have to report back on the action taken at the next meeting – or explain to the community why they’ve not done as they promised!

All residents of Shard End Ward are welcome to attend.  If you can’t make the meeting and there’s an issue you’d like to raise, please use the Contact page of this website to tell me about it!
